Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back while one crawled inside the playground. I worked 12 hour days over months of sanding, and stripping wallpaper while carrying one kid. Ha! It was beginning to make sense, but wasn't quite completed. For furnishing the space it would be a huge effort in terms of both time and funds. It was also going to be a challenge go to my favorite stores. To keep the cost within my means, I took my boys along with me as I searched for hidden treasures at estate sales. We would go from the week of Thursday through Saturday at garage sales and estate sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. Then I painted and sanded the driveway during the workweek. The furniture was like this... which is where I found my love to restore. The issue was not whether our house had already been equipped. Markets in town had room for me to sell pieces. Then, I ran out of many pieces to store in the available space. Then I began hosting open houses at my house where over 1 000 people would come through in the span of a weekend. They could purchase whatever they saw on the ground floor. Growing Days is the result from this. Growing Days wasn't just an extremely successful company, it was also my sweet family. The balance was between starting a business and being a mother. Growing Days just seemed to work. Nora my 4th child was born in the year 2013. I adored where my business was taking me, but I felt like I needed to take a breather. I decided to take a break from making vintage furniture, and I slowed down my speed and stayed at home to take care of the kids. This was precisely what I needed. The phone rang again after some time. There were calls from people asking me for help with interior decor and home renovations. Most of these people were those who had walked through my home during the open houses for furniture! I began to take on clients one at a time working at my own pace but it wasn't too long before I had several accounts, and I was operating a complete home renovation business. Most likely, I'd have laughed had I had been told that the business was going to be part of a forthcoming tv program on DIY Network. As I look back on this situation I am laughing.
