My son played in a playpen while I worked 12-hour days, sanding the floor as well as removing the wallpaper. Ha! The home was beginning to appear nice, however there were still many things to be done. It would take an enormous amount of effort as well as my favourite brands of furniture to furnish this home. In order to keep my budget sound, I travelled with three of my boys to look for deals at estate sales. Our routine for the week consisted of walking from Thursday to Saturday through estate sales and garage sales, buying vintage and modern pieces, while I spent on weekdays painting and sanding the driveway. It was kind of similar to this... Here's the place where my passion for the restoration of antique furniture began. The issue was not whether the house was already equipped. At the local market I was able to rent a tiny space, and also sold objects. Then I bought more that I could decide what to do with and outgrew the area. At home, I would host open houses in which more than 1,000 people were able to come in and purchase any product they wanted from the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was created in the home. While my company grew as did our family. I was finding that balance of what it was like starting a new venture and be a mommy too. Growing Days just seemed to work. It was in 2013 when my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th baby. My business was booming but I was in need of a break. I made the decision to take a break to spend time at home, with my children. This was just what I was looking for. Within a couple of months, my phone started to start to. Calls came in asking me to assist them in decorating their homes and interiors. The majority of people who contacted me were from those who attended one of my furniture open houses. I started taking on some customers one by one taking my time however it wasn't for long to have several accounts, and I was operating the complete business of home remodeling. It would have probably amused me if you had said that this was going to be the subject of an DIY Network tv series. Actually I still kind of laugh when I think about it.
