When I had a baby at my side and other children with me in the cradle was working 12 hour shifts cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! We used to go on a weekly basis to visit garage sales and auctions on Saturday and Sunday and purchase a range of pieces old and newly made. I'd spend my workdays in the driveway painting or sanding. What I saw looked something similar to... that's the moment my love for restoring furniture began. I continued to restore furniture even after we had decorated our house. There was a spot in the market in which I sold my items. In the end, I had lots of pieces, I didn't know what to do and I outgrew my space. Open houses were held at my residence where 1 000 people could visit on a single weekend. visitors could buy anything from the first floor. Growing Days was created in the home. The business I was running was growing and my family was also growing. There was a perfect balance between the start of a company as well as being a mom. Growing Days just seemed to work. My sweet Nora came into the world in 2013, our fourth child. My business was going well but I wanted a rest. I decided to take some break from my antique furniture and stay at home with the kids. It was the right time. The phone rang again after several minutes. I began receiving calls from people asking me for help in home improvement and design of interiors. Many of the people calling me were people who had visited my home at one of the furniture open house events. In the following months, I began to take on new clients at my own speed. Soon I had multiple clients and I was running a business of home renovations. It is likely that I'd have laughed had someone had told me the company was to become part of a forthcoming TV show that airs on the DIY Network. Actually, I smile at times when I think of the episode.
