Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
As I was a mom with one child with me, and other babies in the cradle, I would work 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! All was starting to come together but we weren't anywhere near finished. The house would need lots of time and an enthusiasm to shop. In order to keep my budget intact, I went with my 3 boys looking for bargains at estate sales. We used to go on a weekly basis to walk around garage sales and auctions on Saturday and Sunday, and buy a variety of pieces old and newly constructed. I'd spend my workdays at the end of the driveway, painting or sanding. My passion for restoration of furniture began when I saw a style that was similar to this. The issue was not whether the home was furnished. There was an area in the market in which I sold my pieces. There were numerous pieces that I did not think of a solution and my storage space was a mess. Then I began hosting open houses in my home that saw more than 1 000 visitors could visit in the span of a weekend. They could buy anything they saw in the first floor. It was here that my business Growing Days was born. The business I was running was growing however my family was also expanding. The balance was between starting a business as well as being a mom. Growing Days was the obvious option. Nora joined us in 2013 to be our fourth baby. My business's direction was fantastic, but I had to get some down time. I decided to take a break from creating furniture for vintage homes, and I slowed down my speed and stayed at home to help my children. That was precisely what I needed. After a few months that the phones started to be ringing. I was getting calls from people needing help with decorating their homes and interior renovations. The majority of them were people who had been through my home during the open house for furniture! It didn't seem long until I had a fully-fledged home renovation company. The first step was to take clients on one in a manner that I was comfortable with. It is likely that I would have been laughing if I had been told that the company was to become the basis for an upcoming television show on DIY Network. Actually, I smile slightly when I recall it.
